Within the protected natural resort of Serra de Tramuntana, a little village called Galilea can be found. The name was chosen because of its similarity with the Holy Land. This village attracts hikers, tourists, artists and people who simply come here to stroll through its streets, to contemplate nature and to enjoy some silence not far away from Palma.

Situation:

Galilea is located in the municipalarea of Puigpunyent, between Puigpunyent and Es Capdellà and borders with the municipal areas of Calvià and Estellencs, in the middle of Serra de Tramuntana. In order to reach the village, take the road MA-1041 from Palma to Puigpunyent. Then take the road MA-1032 until Galilea or the MA-1032 from Es Capdellà. Galilea is located 402 metres above sea level (measured at the centre of the village, Ses Timbes) and has 300 inhabitants.

Sights:

Church: Located in the centre of the village on Plaza Pius XII, this church is a temple of the Renaissance, the building of which started in 1806.
 

Casa de Neu (Snow House):
Built between the 18th and the 19th century, this building is located in the street Calle de Sa Mola Gran. It is the only one of its kind in Mallorca that is situated in a city centre. It was used as an ice warehouse until 1917.
 

Molí d’en Martí: This wind mill was built in the 19th century. Yet it is assumed that it is older than the wind mill of Can Soler, which is also situated in the street Calle de Sa Mola Gran.

Pozo Des Rafal:
This 18th century well can be found in Calle des Rafal.
