Ca Mè Mallorquí dog (Majorcan Pointer)Origin
One of the breeds most beloved by the hunters of our isles, it would seem that the Ca Mè comes from a breed of dog originating from the Kingdom of Navarre which then spread throughout the Iberian Peninsula and our Islands, receiving different influences in each place in order to adapt its skills to the hunting needs of each region.

Functionality
The principal works carried out by the Ca Mè as a show dog and hunting dog are those of locating, pointing and flushing the quarry to be shot and, once felled, fetching them to the hunter.

The Ca Mè’s hunting technique is rather slow, with the trot being the main pace of action.

It covers much ground, not in terms of area but as result of zigzagging here, there and everywhere inspecting every inch.

It does not stray far from the hunter, searching close to him, and ever dependant on the instructions that he may give it.

If the dog does not receive any orders, it circles the hunter in request. It wants to be guided, and to be in sync with the hunter.
