Description: The hill Son Cos is located in the municipal area of Marratxi and stands out for the magnificent conservation of its ecosystem. It contains a vast biological diversity with appreciated species such as olive trees, garrigues, mountain pines and large concentrations of orchids.

The calcareous hills and canyons in this area preserve lots of fossils, mute witnesses from a former subsidence in the wetlands, a lagoon. In the surroundings of the town of Palma, the clay soils lead to the formation of a little vale within the region “El Pla”, shaping a landscape of hills and ravines, amongst which Son Cos is located.
