S’Arenal de Sa Ràpita and Ses Covetes belong to the Campos municipality. These beaches are part of the coastal area of Sa Ràpita, a popular area with those looking for second homes, both locals and foreigners.

They border on the west with Sa Ràpita’s Club Náutico and with the rocky Can Sordo area on the east, which forges a natural border with the Es Trenc beach.

Their waters allow boats to anchor right by the beach. A considerable amount of residents and tourists visit the beaches as they are easily accessible by road. If you arrive in your own vehicle you can park in a paid car park – there aren’t many free parking spots around. The nearest bus stop is just 150m away.

Ses Covetes, (Little caves), is named after the burial caves in the area that date back to the “Talayotic” age. Around the area we can see sandstone quarries – parts of Palma de Mallorca’s defensive walls came from these – and thermal waters that date back to the roman era; 38º water that can help with skin and bone ailments, today these are under the management of the Estación Termal de Sant Joan de la Font Santa.

The coastline is characterized by its magnificent natural scenery: the fine sand of its dunes, the pine grove behind the dunes, the tranquillity and the fact that it’s the ideal place for surfing and windsurfing.

Within the Sa Ràpita Club Náutico we can find the Son Durí defensive tower, built back in the 16th century to warn of Saracen raids, which is still well preserved.

The La Ràpita Club Náutico has nearly 500 moorings, and offers 24 hour marine and laundry services as well as a sailing school and mooring rental. There is a canteen and restaurant that offers great Mediterranean and international cuisine, specializing in fresh fish and paellas. A privileged place where one can enjoy the views of Sa Ràpita beach, Es Trenc and as far as the island of Cabrera.
